Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tutor Bahasa Tagalog – Pengajar Asli Filipina to join our growing language education team. This position is perfect for native Filipino speakers who are passionate about sharing their language and culture with learners across Indonesia and the wider Southeast Asian region. The role is fully online, allowing you to teach from the comfort of your own home while reaching students from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
As a Bahasa Tagalog tutor, you will play a pivotal role in helping students achieve fluency, improve their communication skills, and gain confidence in both spoken and written Indonesian. The ideal candidate possesses strong linguistic abilities, a solid educational background (minimum a bachelor’s degree), and a genuine commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons for individuals or small groups via Zoom or Google Meet.
- Assess student proficiency levels and tailor lesson plans to meet specific learning objectives, including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural nuances.
- Create supplemental teaching materials such as worksheets, quizzes, and interactive activities to reinforce learning outcomes.
- Provide constructive feedback on assignments, monitor progress, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson content, and student performance for internal reporting.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, or guardians to discuss goals, address concerns, and celebrate milestones.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in language acquisition, online pedagogy, and digital teaching tools.
- Participate in periodic training sessions and team meetings to share best practices and contribute to curriculum development.
- Ensure a reliable internet connection and a functional teaching setup, including a webcam, headset, and any necessary software.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum a Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Education, Linguistics, Filipino Studies, or a related field.
- Language Proficiency: Native fluency in Bahasa Tagalog with excellent written and spoken skills.
- Teaching Experience: Prior experience in formal or informal language instruction is highly valued, though enthusiastic newcomers with strong communication skills are also welcome.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with online platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and digital whiteboards.
- Soft Skills: Patience, empathy, strong interpersonal abilities, and a responsible work ethic.
- Equipment: Own a reliable computer, high‑speed internet, webcam, and headphones.
- Availability: Able to work Monday‑Saturday, 08:00‑17:00 (flexible scheduling within these hours is possible).
