Introduction
We are seeking a dynamic and results‑driven Kepala Departemen Gudang dan Distribusi (Head of Warehouse & Distribution) to lead our logistics operations in a fast‑growing manufacturing environment. This senior role is pivotal in ensuring that inventory flow, order fulfillment, and distribution processes are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with our company’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will combine solid technical expertise in warehouse management with strong leadership abilities and a forward‑thinking approach to supply‑chain optimization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive warehouse policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance metrics to drive productivity and accuracy.
- Oversee daily inbound and outbound operations, including receiving, put‑away, picking, packing, and shipping, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of warehouse staff, supervisors, and forklift operators; provide coaching, performance evaluations, and career development plans.
- Coordinate closely with procurement, production, and sales departments to balance inventory levels, forecast demand, and prevent stockouts or excesses.
- Manage the warehouse management system (WMS) and integrate it with enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools to enhance real‑time visibility and data‑driven decision making.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with third‑party logistics providers, carriers, and suppliers to secure competitive rates and reliable service.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order cycle time, inventory turnover, picking accuracy, and dock-to‑stock time, and initiate continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, conduct regular safety audits, and promote a culture of zero‑accident workplace.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on warehouse performance, cost savings, and strategic initiatives.
- Drive adoption of lean, Six Sigma, or other process‑improvement methodologies to reduce waste and increase operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum education: S1 (Bachelor’s degree) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; D3/D4 considered if complemented by extensive experience.
- At least 2 years of progressive experience in warehouse or logistics management, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution setting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams of 15+ members.
- Proficient in computer applications, including WMS, ERP (SAP, Oracle, or similar), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑centric mindset.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities; fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and basic English is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, BPJS health and employment insurance compliance.
