Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Petugas Operasional Laundry to join the housekeeping team of our prestigious 5‑star hotel. The Laundry Operations Officer plays a critical role in maintaining this standard of excellence by ensuring that all textile items are cleaned, pressed, and presented to the highest quality.
This full‑time position follows a Monday‑to‑Saturday schedule, with working hours from 08:00 to 17:00. The ideal candidate will be a disciplined, honest, and responsible individual with a passion for hospitality and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and classify laundry items from guest rooms, restaurants, spa, and banquet facilities according to established categories (e.g., bedding, towels, uniforms).
- Operate industrial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and hotel SOPs.
- Perform quality checks on cleaned items, ensuring no stains, damages, or odors remain before redistribution.
- Maintain accurate inventory logs for linen, towels, and other textile supplies, coordinating with the procurement team for restocking.
- Collaborate closely with the Housekeeping Department to prioritize urgent guest requests and manage peak‑season workloads.
- Implement and monitor health, safety, and hygiene standards, including proper handling of chemicals and personal protective equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly and assist in routine maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
- Train and mentor new laundry staff on proper techniques, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure the laundry area remains clean, organized, and free from hazards at all times.
- Contribute ideas for process improvements that reduce turnaround time and enhance sustainability, such as water‑saving initiatives.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum high school diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- Gender: Female candidates are preferred, in line with hotel policy for this specific role.
- Age: Up to 30 years old (maximum).
- Experience: Prior experience in hotel or commercial laundry operations is highly desirable; fresh graduates with strong motivation are also encouraged to apply.
- Key Skills: Ability to maintain cleanliness, strong attention to detail, and proficient in operating laundry machinery.
- Personal Attributes: Responsible, disciplined, honest, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and handle moderate lifting (up to 20 kg) safely.
- Language: Basic proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia; additional language skills are a plus.
