Introduction

Responsibilities

The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for a broad range of duties that encompass daily operational oversight, staff development, and quality assurance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and coordinating the daily activities of the housekeeping staff, including room attendants, public area cleaners, and laundry personnel.
  • Ensuring all guest rooms and public areas meet the hotel’s cleanliness standards and visual presentation guidelines.
  • Conducting regular inspections of rooms, corridors, and facilities, documenting findings, and implementing corrective actions promptly.
  • Managing inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities, and working closely with the procurement team to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Training new hires on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and the use of hotel property management systems (PMS) and inventory software.
  • Scheduling staff shifts, handling attendance records, and addressing any staffing shortages or overtime requirements.
  • Collaborating with Front Office, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage departments to ensure seamless guest service, especially during high occupancy periods.
  • Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping reports for senior management, highlighting productivity metrics, guest satisfaction scores, and cost control measures.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback from team members and implementing best practices from the hospitality industry.
  • Responding to guest complaints or special requests in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring resolution that exceeds expectations.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and personal attributes:

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree (S1) or Diploma (D3) in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in hotel housekeeping, with demonstrated supervisory or team‑lead experience.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel standard operating procedures (SOPs), guest service standards, and health & safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software such as PMS, inventory control systems, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and a working knowledge of English.
  • Leadership qualities: ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team while maintaining a respectful and inclusive work environment.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of working under pressure during peak occupancy or special events.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Flexibility to work six days a week (Monday‑Saturday) from 08:00 to 17:00, with occasional weekend or holiday coverage as needed.
