Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Teknisi Instalasi dan Pemeliharaan Fiber Optik to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, activating, and maintaining high‑speed fiber optic connections for residential and commercial customers. The position offers a chance to work with cutting‑edge FTTH (Fiber‑to‑the‑Home) technology, collaborate with seasoned engineers, and contribute to the expansion of reliable broadband services across the region.
The ideal candidate is a technically‑savvy individual with at least one year of hands‑on experience in fiber optic or telecommunications environments. You will act as the frontline technical liaison, ensuring that customers receive prompt, professional support and that network performance meets our high standards of quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Perform on‑site installation of fiber optic cables, splitters, and ONT (Optical Network Terminal) devices according to engineering schematics.
- Activate new services, configure customer premises equipment (CPE), and verify service quality through testing tools such as OTDR and power meters.
- Provide remote and on‑site technical support, troubleshooting connectivity issues, signal loss, and equipment failures.
- Diagnose and resolve both technical and non‑technical problems, communicating clearly with customers to explain solutions and expected resolution times.
- Collaborate with network planning teams to suggest improvements in deployment strategies and to report recurring faults that may indicate systemic issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, service tickets, and equipment inventory using the company’s CRM system.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including proper handling of fiber strands, use of personal protective equipment, and compliance with local regulatory standards.
- Participate in on‑the‑job training sessions and stay updated on emerging fiber technologies, such as GPON, XGS‑PON, and wavelength‑division multiplexing (WDM).
Requirements
- Male candidates, maximum age 35 years.
- Minimum education: SMK (Computer Network Engineering) or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.00 (or a high school score of 85).
- At least 1 year of proven experience in fiber optic installation, FTTH deployment, or ISP network support.
- Valid driver’s license (SIM A) preferred for traveling to customer sites.
- Strong technical knowledge of fiber optic principles, FTTH architecture, and common telecom equipment.
- Excellent analytical skills, ability to interpret test results, and propose effective corrective actions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize multiple service tickets.
- Basic understanding of network security concepts and the ability to follow best practices during installations.
