Introduction
The Wi‑Fi Network Technician position is a critical field‑service role responsible for delivering reliable wireless connectivity solutions across the island of Kalimantan. Candidates will be deployed to any of the four major regions—West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, or East Kalimantan—where they will interact directly with residential and business customers, ensuring that each installation meets the company’s high standards for performance and safety. This role offers a dynamic work environment with a blend of on‑site visits, remote troubleshooting, and continuous learning about the latest Wi‑Fi technologies.
Responsibilities
- Perform on‑site installation and activation of Wi‑Fi equipment, including routers, access points, and cabling, following detailed technical schematics.
- Conduct comprehensive site surveys to determine optimal placement of network hardware and to identify potential sources of interference.
- Provide remote and in‑person technical support, diagnosing connectivity issues, and applying corrective actions within agreed service‑level targets.
- Configure network parameters such as SSID, encryption, QoS, and VLANs to align with customer requirements and corporate security policies.
- Document all service activities, including installation reports, fault logs, and resolution steps, using the company’s ticketing system.
- Educate customers on basic troubleshooting, equipment usage, and best practices to maximize network performance.
- Collaborate with the central engineering team to relay field observations that can improve product design and deployment procedures.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring that all equipment is calibrated and ready for deployment.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental guidelines while working in diverse field conditions, from urban centers to remote villages.
- Support promotional activities by demonstrating new Wi‑Fi solutions and gathering feedback from end‑users.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Senior High School (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- Age: 31 years or younger.
- Gender: Male (as specified by the posting).
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in network installation, maintenance, or customer support.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve wireless networking problems, including signal attenuation, channel interference, and authentication failures.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting network logs, performance metrics, and diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with telecommunications standards, RF planning, and basic IP networking concepts.
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical information clearly to non‑technical customers.
- Self‑motivated with a customer‑first attitude, capable of working independently and managing time effectively across a varied work schedule (Tuesday – Sunday, 08:00 – 16:00).
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Kalimantan and adapt to different cultural and environmental settings.
