Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Professional Cook specialized in Asian cuisine to join our dynamic culinary team. This full‑time role is based in a fast‑paced kitchen environment serving large‑scale operations such as catering events, upscale hotels, and high‑volume restaurant outlets. Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a wide variety of Asian dishes—including stir‑fries, curries, dim sum, sushi, and noodle specialties—according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
- Manage large‑batch production for catering contracts, ensuring timely delivery and portion accuracy for events ranging from corporate banquets to wedding feasts.
- Calculate and monitor the cost of goods sold (HPP) for each menu item, adjusting portion sizes and ingredient usage to meet profitability targets without compromising taste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work station; adhere to HACCP, food safety, and sanitation protocols at all times.
- Assist the head chef in menu development, introducing innovative dishes that reflect current trends in Asian gastronomy.
- Train junior kitchen staff and apprentices on proper cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen workflow.
- Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to forecast ingredient needs, minimize waste, and ensure stock rotation.
- Communicate effectively with front‑of‑house personnel to accommodate special dietary requests and ensure seamless service during peak hours.
- Adapt quickly to shift changes, weekend schedules, and holiday service demands while maintaining a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
Requirements
- Male candidates are preferred.
- Minimum education: SMK Tata Boga (Culinary Arts) or equivalent; a D3/D4 degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (at least 1‑2 years) in high‑volume cooking environments such as catering services, hotel kitchens, or large restaurants.
- Demonstrated ability to calculate and control HPP for menu items.
- Strong ability to work quickly, accurately, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working within a multicultural team.
- Honesty, creativity, and innovation with a genuine passion for culinary arts.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Age: Up to 35 years old (maximum).
