Introduction
HIGAR, a dynamic business unit of PT IMB Group, is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Barista to lead the Higar Wellness Bar. This premium coffee service outlet focuses on delivering high‑quality beverages, including specialty coffees, smoothies, mocktails, and cold‑pressed juices, to health‑conscious customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving menu innovation, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all daily bar operations, ensuring strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP) and health‑safety standards.
- Develop, test, and maintain consistent drink recipes while continuously innovating new menu items that align with wellness trends.
- Create and manage shift schedules, conduct daily briefings, and communicate performance expectations to the bar team.
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate bar staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Monitor and control beverage quality, presentation, and cleanliness across the entire service area.
- Oversee inventory management, including receipt logging, usage tracking, ordering, and regular stock counts (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Ensure all bar equipment—such as espresso machines, blenders, juicers, shakers, and chillers—are maintained, calibrated, and functioning properly.
- Deliver outstanding customer service, promptly handling complaints, feedback, and special requests with a solutions‑oriented approach.
- Prepare accurate sales reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for ownership and senior management.
- Collaborate with the owner on menu development, promotional campaigns, and operational enhancements.
- Track cost of goods sold (COGS), manage margins, and implement efficiency measures to meet financial targets.
- Serve as a role model for grooming, attitude, and hospitality standards, reinforcing the brand’s premium image.
- Participate in weekend shifts and special events, ensuring seamless service during peak periods.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in the F&B industry, specifically in coffee shops or health‑drink concepts.
- Proven leadership experience as a senior barista, head barista, or team supervisor.
- Strong knowledge of coffee brewing, espresso extraction, latte art, as well as preparation of smoothies, mocktails, and cold‑pressed juices.
- Familiarity with SOPs, inventory control, and food safety standards (HACCP or basic hygiene).
- Understanding of FIFO and FEFO inventory principles to minimize waste.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication skills.
- Highly disciplined, detail‑oriented, responsible, and proactive on the floor.
- Comfortable working a shift system, including weekends and occasional special events.
- Proficiency in basic office applications such as Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel for reporting and stock tracking.
- Basic knowledge of costing, margin analysis, and budgeting to support operational efficiency.
