Introduction
The Hospital Linen Attendant Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, and transport used linens from patient rooms, operating theatres, and clinical areas to the central laundry facility.
- Operate industrial washing, drying, and ironing equipment while adhering to manufacturer guidelines and hospital hygiene protocols.
- Inspect all linens for stains, damage, or wear and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts, and ensure timely replenishment of clean linens, gowns, blankets, and towels.
- Collaborate closely with Housekeeping, Nursing, and Sterile Processing departments to coordinate linen delivery schedules and respond to urgent requests.
- Implement and follow infection‑control procedures, including proper segregation of contaminated, soiled, and clean textiles.
- Document and report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or supply shortages to supervisory staff.
- Assist in training new team members on proper handling techniques, safety standards, and customer‑service expectations.
- Provide prompt and courteous assistance to guests and patients who have specific linen requests or concerns.
- Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste, improving turnaround times, and enhancing overall service quality.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s degree (D4) in Hospitality Management, Health Services, or a related field.
- At least 1–3 years of experience in a similar hospitality or linen‑management role, preferably within a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; additional proficiency in the local language is a plus.
- Demonstrated guest‑oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high‑quality service.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
