Introduction
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Dental Surgeon to join our modern dental clinic. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless clinical operations, supporting dentists during procedures, and delivering compassionate care to our patients. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of hands‑on experience in a dental setting, a solid foundation in infection control, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and consumables before each appointment, ensuring everything is ready for the dentist.
- Assist the dentist during clinical procedures, including four‑handed dentistry, suction management, and instrument passing.
- Execute sterilization protocols in compliance with national health regulations, maintaining a sterile field at all times.
- Conduct regular inventory checks, perform stock opname, and coordinate re‑ordering of dental supplies.
- Provide post‑procedure instructions and oral hygiene education to patients in a friendly and understandable manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the operatory, waiting area, and sterilization zone.
- Document procedures accurately in the clinic’s electronic health record system.
- Assist in scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling phone inquiries when needed.
- Participate in team meetings, continuous training sessions, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
- Offer emotional support to anxious patients, creating a calm and reassuring atmosphere.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum high school diploma (SMA/SMK) with a focus on health. Preference given to candidates who have completed a vocational program in Dental Nursing/Assistants (SMK Kesehatan) or hold an associate degree (D3) in Dental Nursing.
- Experience: At least 1 year of practical experience in a dental clinic, ideally with exposure to orthodontic and odontectomy procedures.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with dental instruments, sterilization cycles, and four‑handed dentistry techniques.
- Professional Attitude: Honest, disciplined, and committed to high ethical standards.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy toward patients, and the ability to coordinate effectively with dentists and support staff.
- Additional Assets: Active STR (Surat Tanda Registrasi) for dental nurses, competence with clinic management software or cash‑register systems, and a cheerful personality that helps soothe nervous patients.
