Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee beverages according to the shop’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and temperature.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the booth area, coffee equipment, and surrounding workspace throughout the shift.
- Set up and break down the outlet/booth daily, including stocking coffee beans, milk, syrups, and disposable packaging.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance such as cleaning espresso machines, grinders, and steam wands to prevent downtime.
- Engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner, taking orders accurately and offering recommendations based on their preferences.
- Handle cash transactions, operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system, and ensure accurate cash balancing at the end of each shift.
- Collaborate with teammates to manage peak‑hour traffic efficiently, maintaining a smooth workflow and minimizing wait times.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on new brewing techniques, seasonal menu items, and health‑safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory checks, report low stock levels, and help with ordering supplies as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High school diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of proven experience as a barista in a busy coffee shop or café environment.
- Age range: 18‑25 years (flexible for exceptional candidates).
- All genders are welcome; female applicants may be required to wear modest attire (e.g., hijab) in accordance with shop policy.
- Non‑smoker or able to work in a smoke‑free environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak clearly and courteously in front of customers.
- Strong attention to detail, quick learning ability, and a genuine passion for coffee culture.
- Must not be bound by ongoing school or university commitments that could interfere with shift scheduling.
- Core skills: coffee brewing, product packaging, public speaking, and various food‑service presentation techniques.
