Introduction

The Community Officer for the Simalungun region plays a pivotal role in empowering low‑income women through tailored financial literacy, business mentoring, and micro‑financing solutions. As a professional liaison, you will travel across assigned villages, build trustful relationships, and act as a catalyst for sustainable entrepreneurship. This position blends community outreach with practical financial guidance, ensuring that each client not only receives capital but also gains the skills needed to manage it responsibly.

Responsibilities

  • Visit assigned neighborhoods in Simalungun to identify and engage women entrepreneurs who are classified as prasejahtera (low‑income).
  • Provide one‑on‑one mentorship covering basic bookkeeping, cash flow management, and disciplined savings practices.
  • Facilitate group‑based micro‑loan disbursement without collateral, ensuring that loan terms are clearly understood and repayment schedules are monitored.
  • Conduct regular follow‑up meetings to track business performance, resolve challenges, and adjust financial plans as needed.
  • Organize and lead community workshops on topics such as budgeting, debt management, and the benefits of collective savings groups.
  • Maintain accurate records in Microsoft Excel and Word, reporting progress to the regional office on a weekly basis.
  • Collaborate with local partners, NGOs, and government agencies to expand the reach of financial literacy programs.
  • Listen actively to client needs, propose appropriate solutions, and act as an advocate for their economic advancement.

Requirements

  • Female candidates only.
  • Age between 18 and 33 years.
  • Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; D3 or S1 graduates are highly valued.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for social interaction and community building.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to varying cultural contexts and remote work environments.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset, capable of handling documentation and reporting with precision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; basic digital literacy is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia, both spoken and written.
