Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly, escort them to their tables, and present menus with a friendly demeanor.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, relay them to the kitchen and bar staff, and ensure timely delivery to the dining area.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, specials, and pairings, tailoring suggestions to guests’ preferences and dietary requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, including table settings, silverware, and condiment stations, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Monitor table turnover, promptly clear used dishes, and reset tables for the next guests to maximize seating efficiency.
- Handle guest inquiries, resolve concerns, and address complaints with professionalism and empathy, escalating to management when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen, bar, and fellow service staff to coordinate orders, manage timing, and uphold a seamless dining flow.
- Process payments accurately using point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, issue receipts, and ensure proper cash handling procedures.
- Work effectively under pressure during peak hours, maintaining composure and attention to detail.
- Participate in regular training sessions, menu tastings, and safety drills to stay current with industry best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4 (or equivalent) in Hospitality, Tourism, or related field.
