Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Pembantu Koki (Kitchen Assistant) to join our bustling kitchen team in Banda Aceh. This role focuses on supporting the head chef and culinary staff with the preparation, handling, and presentation of a wide variety of dishes. Responsibilities
- Assist chefs in preparing ingredients, including washing, cutting, marinating, and portioning vegetables, meats, and seafood.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station by regularly sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards.
- Support the cooking process by monitoring timers, stirring pots, and ensuring dishes are cooked to specification.
- Receive and store deliveries, conduct inventory checks, and report any discrepancies or low‑stock items to the kitchen manager.
- Assist with plating and garnishing finished dishes to ensure consistent presentation and portion control.
- Collaborate with fellow kitchen staff to coordinate workflow during peak service periods, minimizing wait times for guests.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper waste disposal and pest control measures.
- Participate in daily briefings, provide feedback on menu preparation, and suggest improvements to increase efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Age between 21 and 30 years; candidates must not be currently enrolled in any academic program.
- Residency in Banda Aceh or willing to relocate to the area.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in a kitchen or food‑service environment; prior experience is highly preferred.
- Strong work ethic: disciplined, clean, organized, and trustworthy.
- Excellent teamwork abilities; able to communicate clearly and support colleagues under pressure.
- Professional appearance and demeanor, reflecting the standards of our establishment.
- Observant of daily prayers (Sholat 5 times) and respectful of the cultural values of the workplace.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, including proper handling of perishable items.
