Responsibilities
- Execute cutting, stitching, and finishing tasks for a variety of clothing items, ensuring adherence to pattern specifications and quality standards.
- Interpret design sketches and technical drawings to produce prototypes and sample garments that meet client expectations.
- Perform garment alterations, repairs, and refurbishments, including the handling of damaged fabrics and intricate detailing.
- Maintain an organized work station, including proper handling of tools, threads, fabrics, and inventory of sewing supplies.
- Collaborate with designers, pattern makers, and production supervisors to streamline workflow and resolve technical challenges.
- Monitor production timelines, report progress, and suggest process improvements to increase efficiency without compromising quality.
- Uphold health and safety standards by following proper machine operation procedures and maintaining a clean, hazard‑free workspace.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior sewing staff, fostering skill development and teamwork.
- Assist in the preparation of material requisitions and maintain accurate records of fabric usage and waste.
- Engage with customers when necessary to understand alteration requests, explain garment care, and ensure satisfaction.
Requirements

- Basic sewing proficiency with the ability to operate industrial and domestic sewing machines.
