We are looking for a dynamic Conservation Acquisition Representative – Fundraiser based in Surabaya to become the public face of our programs, engage donors, and secure sustainable funding that fuels our field work across the archipelago.
This full‑time role combines grassroots outreach, relationship building, and strategic fundraising. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, loves nature, and is motivated by measurable impact.
Responsibilities
- Identify, approach, and recruit at least one new sustainable individual donor each working day, explaining YKAN’s mission and the tangible outcomes of their contribution.
- Conduct face‑to‑face outreach at public venues, schools, community events, and corporate offices, using persuasive storytelling and visual aids to illustrate conservation successes.
- Maintain a detailed donor pipeline in the CRM system, logging interactions, follow‑up actions, and donation commitments.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Team Leader, highlighting achieved targets, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Handle donor inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a high level of donor satisfaction to encourage recurring contributions.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to align fundraising messages with broader campaign themes and social‑media initiatives.
- Participate in daily training sessions, role‑plays, and skill‑enhancement workshops to continuously improve persuasion, negotiation, and public‑speaking abilities.
- Track performance against agreed‑upon targets and adjust outreach strategies based on data‑driven insights.
- Represent YKAN professionally at business trips and regional conferences, showcasing our impact and expanding our network of potential supporters.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4 (any field of study) – a background in environmental studies, social sciences, or business is a plus.
- At least 1 year of experience in fundraising, sales, or community outreach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present persuasively in public settings.
- Self‑confidence to engage diverse audiences, from local residents to corporate executives.
- Result‑oriented mindset with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Resident of Surabaya or surrounding areas is preferred for logistical convenience.
- Flexibility to work a rotating shift schedule (morning and afternoon) with a standard 5‑day workweek.
