Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Supervisor Scaffolder to lead our construction scaffolding teams on a range of high‑profile projects across Batam, Riau Islands. This pivotal role combines hands‑on technical expertise with strong leadership, ensuring that all scaffold structures are erected, inspected, and dismantled in full compliance with safety regulations and project schedules. The successful candidate will be a key liaison between project managers, site foremen, and the scaffold crew, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise the daily activities of scaffold crews on multiple construction sites.
- Conduct detailed site assessments to determine optimal scaffold designs, load capacities, and material requirements.
- Ensure all scaffold installations meet local building codes, OSHA (or equivalent) standards, and company safety protocols.
- Perform regular inspections and audits of erected scaffolds, documenting findings and initiating corrective actions when necessary.
- Coordinate with project engineers, site managers, and subcontractors to align scaffold work with overall construction timelines.
- Train and mentor junior scaffolders, emphasizing safe work practices, proper equipment handling, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of scaffold inventories, usage logs, and certification expirations.
- Prepare daily progress reports, incident reports, and resource forecasts for senior management.
- Manage procurement of scaffold components, ensuring timely delivery while controlling costs.
- Participate in pre‑construction meetings, risk assessments, and post‑project debriefs to capture lessons learned.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in scaffolding supervision; prior experience in civil‑engineering environments is highly desirable.
- Valid certification for scaffold erection and inspection (e.g., Scaffolding Supervisor Certificate, OSHA 30‑hour construction safety).
- Strong knowledge of local construction regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to start work immediately and commit to full‑time employment.
- Preferred residence in Batam, Riau Islands, or willingness to relocate promptly.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; capable of leading a diverse crew of all genders.
- Proficiency in basic civil‑engineering terminology and the ability to read technical drawings.
- Physical fitness to conduct site inspections and oversee manual handling tasks.
