Introduction

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Maintenance Engineer – Plant Operations to join our dynamic facilities team. This pivotal role ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil infrastructure within our manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership abilities to drive preventative maintenance programs, manage capital projects, and mentor a dedicated maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of electrical systems, water‑piping networks, HVAC units, and structural components to identify wear, potential failures, and compliance issues.
  • Develop, schedule, and continuously improve preventive maintenance plans for critical equipment such as compressors, generators, pumps, and air‑handling units, reducing unplanned downtime.
  • Lead rapid response repair actions when equipment malfunctions occur, ensuring minimal impact on production schedules and adherence to safety standards.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for building construction, facility upgrades, and major equipment overhauls, collaborating with procurement and finance teams.
  • Monitor actual maintenance expenditures against budgeted figures, providing regular variance analysis and recommending cost‑saving measures.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate a multi‑disciplinary maintenance crew, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and technical excellence.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service contractors for specialized repairs, ensuring contracts are fulfilled on time and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including maintenance logs, equipment manuals, and regulatory compliance records.
  • Participate in root‑cause investigations for recurring failures and implement corrective actions to improve overall plant reliability.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by optimizing energy usage, implementing predictive maintenance technologies, and promoting waste‑reduction practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s (S1) in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Architecture.
  • At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in a similar senior maintenance or plant engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical distribution, plumbing/water‑treatment, civil structures, and utility equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage maintenance budgets and capital project cost estimates.
  • Proficiency in data acquisition tools, industrial automation, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, with a focus on root‑cause analysis and preventive solutions.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills, capable of guiding teams and interfacing with cross‑functional departments.
  • Flexibility to work Monday‑Friday, 08:30‑17:30, with occasional after‑hours or on‑call duties for critical emergencies.
