Introduction
SPX Express, a leading logistics provider in Indonesia, is expanding its operations in the Kab. Tuban region of East Java. We are seeking a motivated Shift Lead for our Sortation Center (SOC) to join a dynamic team that handles high‑volume parcel processing, sorting, bagging, re‑processing and outbound distribution. This full‑time role works a Monday‑Saturday schedule from 08:00 to 17:00 and requires a flexible, hands‑on leader who can thrive in a fast‑paced, shift‑based environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily operations of the Sortation Center, ensuring smooth flow through inbound receiving, automated sortation, manual bagging, re‑processing of exceptions, and outbound dispatch.
- Enforce compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety standards, conducting regular audits and corrective actions when necessary.
- Develop and adjust manpower plans in response to fluctuating daily volumes, coordinating with HR and scheduling teams to secure the right staffing levels.
- Track team productivity, equipment utilization, and key performance indicators (KPIs) such as pick‑rate, error‑rate, and on‑time‑delivery, reporting trends to senior management.
- Lead daily briefings that cover performance dashboards, 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) initiatives, and continuous‑improvement opportunities.
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate warehouse staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and high‑quality service.
- Coordinate with inbound and outbound transportation partners to resolve bottlene‑backs and ensure timely loading/unloading.
- Identify process improvement projects, support implementation of automation tools, and document best practices for future scaling.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in any field is a plus.
- At least 2‑3 years of logistics experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or warehouse‑lead role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team of 20‑40 associates in a high‑throughput environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the capability to motivate diverse crews and resolve conflicts quickly.
- Proven analytical mindset – comfortable reading data, creating schedules, and making data‑driven decisions.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including occasional night or weekend coverage as operational demands dictate.
- Readiness to relocate to Kab. Tuban, Jawa Timur, and to travel occasionally to other SPX Express facilities.
- Familiarity with 5S methodology, lean principles, and basic knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is highly desirable.
