Introduction
We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Staff Purchasing – Procurement and Vendor Management professional to join our dynamic supply chain team. This role is pivotal in securing high‑quality goods and services at competitive prices while fostering strong relationships with suppliers. The successful candidate will operate in a fast‑paced environment, supporting the organization’s growth objectives through strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and rigorous vendor performance monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Conduct end‑to‑end procurement activities, from requisition review to purchase order issuance, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers, performing cost‑benefit analyses and risk assessments to expand the vendor base responsibly.
- Lead price and contract negotiations, leveraging market intelligence to achieve optimal terms, discounts, and service level agreements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records in the ERP system, tracking order status, delivery schedules, and invoice reconciliations.
- Collaborate closely with the inventory, production, and finance departments to forecast demand, manage lead times, and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
- Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, quality compliance, and cost variance, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards for senior management, highlighting savings achieved, procurement cycle times, and risk exposure.
- Provide training and guidance to junior purchasing staff on best practices, negotiation techniques, and compliance requirements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies that could impact sourcing strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4; preferred S1 in any discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in purchasing, with a minimum of 1 year specifically in a staff purchasing role.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate prices and contracts effectively.
- Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, and logistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP or procurement software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear interaction with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Highly meticulous, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
