Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Professional Animal Groomer to join our thriving pet‑care retail team. The role involves a blend of hands‑on animal care, store stewardship, and customer service. You will be the face of the shop during opening hours, ensuring that every pet receives gentle, professional treatment while the store remains organized and ready for business.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the store according to standard operating procedures, including cash handling and security checks.
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitising of grooming stations, bathing areas, and the sales floor to meet health‑and‑safety regulations.
- Prepare the store for daily operations by arranging merchandise, restocking grooming supplies, and organising the reception area.
- Package and label animal feed and accessories accurately for both in‑store sales and online orders.
- Provide gentle bathing, brushing, nail trimming, and basic grooming services for a variety of pets, primarily dogs and cats, while ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assist customers with pet‑care advice, recommend appropriate products, and answer questions about grooming techniques.
- Monitor the health and behaviour of animals in the store, reporting any concerns to senior staff or veterinarians promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of each animal’s grooming session, including services performed, products used, and any special instructions.
- Collaborate with the sales team to promote special offers, loyalty programs, and seasonal pet‑care events.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay up‑to‑date with the latest grooming trends, animal‑handling best practices, and product knowledge.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- Female candidates only, as specified by the employer.
- Age: Up to 30 years old.
- No prior professional grooming experience required; on‑the‑job training will be provided.
- Strong passion for animal welfare and a calm, patient demeanor when handling pets of all sizes.
- Basic knowledge of animal hygiene, feeding practices, and grooming tools.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00, with occasional overtime during peak periods.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform repetitive motions safely.
