Introduction

We are seeking a dedicated Baker – Specialist in Bread and Pastry Production to join our dynamic culinary team in Purwokerto. This role is ideal for a passionate individual who loves the art of baking, values precision, and thrives in a fast‑paced kitchen environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a wide range of high‑quality breads, pastries, and confectionery items that delight our guests and uphold our brand’s reputation for excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of breads, rolls, croissants, danishes, cakes, and specialty pastries according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
  • Measure, mix, and knead doughs and batters with exacting accuracy, ensuring consistency in texture, flavor, and appearance.
  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards, including proper storage of raw materials, sanitation of workstations, and compliance with HACCP guidelines.
  • Monitor oven temperatures, proofing times, and baking cycles to achieve optimal results and minimize waste.
  • Develop new product concepts in collaboration with the culinary manager, staying current with industry trends and customer preferences.
  • Manage inventory of flour, yeast, fillings, toppings, and other baking supplies, placing orders as needed to avoid shortages.
  • Train junior kitchen staff on basic baking techniques, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with the front‑of‑house team to ensure timely delivery of baked goods for service periods, including breakfast, lunch, and special events.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, performing daily equipment checks and routine maintenance.
  • Document production logs, batch records, and any deviations from standard recipes for traceability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: D3/D4 (Associate or Bachelor degree) in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Age: up to 30 years old.
  • Gender: Female (preference for local candidates residing in Purwokerto).
  • Minimum of 0–2 years of professional baking experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or high‑volume bakery setting.
  • Solid understanding of pastry fundamentals, dough fermentation, and decorative techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively within a multicultural kitchen team.
  • Demonstrated honesty, discipline, meticulous attention to detail, and a sense of responsibility.
  • Good physical stamina and mental resilience to stand for long periods and handle the heat of ovens.
  • Legal residence in Purwokerto or willingness to relocate.
  • Availability to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00.
