Introduction
The Asisten Pelayan Banquet Acara plays a crucial role in delivering flawless event experiences for guests at our hotel and resort venues. As part of a dynamic hospitality team, you will support the banquet floor staff in preparing, executing, and concluding a wide variety of functions—ranging from corporate meetings and weddings to large‑scale celebrations. This position offers a unique blend of front‑of‑house interaction, logistical coordination, and creative problem‑solving, all aimed at ensuring every guest leaves with a memorable impression of our service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the set‑up of banquet rooms, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, tableware, and décor according to event specifications.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and beverage teams to ensure timely delivery of food and drinks, while monitoring portion control and presentation standards.
- Provide attentive, courteous service to guests during the event, responding promptly to special requests, dietary restrictions, and any unforeseen issues.
- Maintain clear communication with the banquet manager, event planner, and other support staff to guarantee smooth transitions between event phases (setup, service, breakdown).
- Perform post‑event duties such as clearing tables, polishing glassware, restocking service stations, and conducting a thorough inspection of the venue for any damage or missing items.
- Support inventory management by tracking linens, utensils, and consumables, reporting shortages, and assisting with ordering processes.
- Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with local regulations and the hotel’s internal policies.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum D3/D4 qualification in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field.
- Experience: Prior experience in a similar banquet or food‑and‑beverage position within a hotel, resort, or event‑catering environment is preferred.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia; proficiency in English is a plus.
- Personal Attributes: Highly motivated, creative, innovative, and results‑oriented with a genuine guest‑focused mindset.
- Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, maintain a positive attitude, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with banquet service procedures, food safety standards, and basic point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 kg, and move quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
- Availability: Willingness to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00, with occasional overtime for special events.
