Introduction
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our entry‑level automotive technician program, titled Pendidikan Dasar untuk Teknisi. This role is designed for recent graduates of vocational schools who are eager to develop hands‑on skills in light vehicle maintenance and repair. The successful candidate will receive on‑the‑job training in a professional workshop environment located in Palu, working alongside experienced mechanics and service supervisors. This position offers a solid foundation for a long‑term career in the automotive industry, one of the fastest‑growing sectors in Indonesia.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians in routine inspection, diagnostics, and repair of light‑weight vehicles (motorcycles, cars, and small trucks).
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and battery checks.
- Use hand and power tools safely to disassemble and reassemble engine components under supervision.
- Identify visual defects, assess wear patterns, and report findings to the service manager.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring that tools are calibrated and stored properly.
- Document all service actions in the shop’s digital tracking system, noting parts used and labor time.
- Participate in weekly safety briefings and comply with all health‑and‑safety regulations, including drug‑free workplace policies.
- Develop proficiency with diagnostic software and electronic control unit (ECU) reading tools.
- Continuously improve technical knowledge through internal training sessions and manufacturer‑provided courses.
- Provide courteous assistance to customers when explaining simple maintenance procedures or service recommendations.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; graduation from a vocational program in Teknik Kendaraan Ringan (TKR) or Teknik Kendaraan Ringan Otomotif (TKRO) is required.
- Male candidates only (as stipulated by the client’s operational policy).
- Good physical health, drug‑free status, and the ability to stand for extended periods.
- Excellent visual acuity and color discrimination to identify wiring codes, fluid leaks, and warning lights.
- Basic understanding of automotive systems, including engine, transmission, brake, and electrical components.
- Strong willingness to learn, punctuality, and a collaborative attitude.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
- Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, 08:30 – 16:30.
- No prior work experience required; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
