To support our growing technology landscape, we are looking for a motivated IT Development Intern to join the Department of Information Technology. This internship is an integral part of the mandatory internship program required by many colleges and vocational schools, offering a hands‑on experience in system development, support, and digital transformation within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior developers in designing, coding, testing, and deploying web‑based and mobile applications that streamline hotel operations such as reservations, housekeeping, and guest services.
- Participate in daily stand‑up meetings, contribute ideas during sprint planning, and track progress using Agile tools like Jira or Trello.
- Support the IT help‑desk by troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal downtime for staff and guests.
- Conduct research on emerging hospitality technologies (e.g., contactless check‑in, IoT room controls) and prepare short reports for the IT strategy team.
- Document code changes, create user manuals, and maintain internal knowledge bases to aid future maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including front‑office, finance, and human resources—to understand system requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Participate in data‑cleaning activities, ensuring that guest and operational data remain accurate and compliant with privacy regulations.
- Attend workshops and training sessions organized by the hotel’s Learning & Development department to enhance technical and soft skills.
Requirements
- Active enrollment in a college or vocational program, pursuing a D3/D4 degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant major may also include Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary Arts, Accounting, or Human Resources where technology plays a key role.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and a passion for learning new programming languages and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Professional appearance, disciplined work ethic, and punctuality.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is preferred.
- Willingness to comply with the internship schedule set by the hotel and the educational institution (Monday‑Saturday, 08:00‑17:00).
- Basic understanding of IT problem‑solving, networking, and software development lifecycle.
