Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Professional Kitchen Cook – Food Preparation Specialist to join our bustling culinary team at a popular street‑food venue in PIK 1, North Jakarta. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of menu items including fried chicken, duck, catfish (lele), empal, assorted seafood, off‑al (jeroan), and a variety of vegetable dishes.
- Produce signature sambal and pecel‑style sauces, ensuring consistency with the established flavor profile.
- Perform thorough ingredient preparation—cleaning, chopping, marinating, and seasoning—prior to cooking.
- Maintain consistent taste, quality, and presentation of every dish served to guests.
- Uphold rigorous cleanliness standards in the kitchen, including sanitizing workstations, cooking equipment, and storage areas.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and report any shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
- Collaborate closely with fellow kitchen staff to fulfill customer orders quickly and accurately, especially during peak service hours.
- Contribute ideas for new recipes or menu enhancements, supporting the continual evolution of our offerings.
- Adhere to all safety and food‑handling regulations, including proper storage temperatures and allergen awareness.
- Participate in shift rotations, including weekends and national holidays, to ensure uninterrupted service.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMP/MTS or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of professional cooking experience, preferably in a warung, pecel‑lele outlet, or Indonesian restaurant.
- Proven ability to fry a variety of proteins (chicken, duck, fish, off‑al) and to stir‑fry vegetables, tofu, and tempeh.
- Skilled in preparing authentic sambal and pecel sauces to a consistent taste standard.
- Strong work ethic: fast, organized, and capable of maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
- Creative mindset with initiative to develop new menu items.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills; able to follow operational directives.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Physical ability to lift heavy pots and stand for extended periods.
- Male candidates only (as per current hiring policy).
- Ready to be stationed at our PIK 1 location in North Jakarta.
