Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Chemical – Laboratory Materials Handler to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role focuses on the safe handling, analysis, and quality control of chemical substances used in the production of foam, furniture, and spring‑bed components. The successful candidate will work closely with production engineers, quality assurance personnel, and external suppliers to ensure that all chemical processes comply with safety standards and deliver consistent product performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine quality control checks on incoming and in‑process chemical materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee proper storage of hazardous substances in compliance with MSDS guidelines.
- Support the manufacturing line by preparing and dispensing chemicals according to batch specifications.
- Perform basic chemical analyses using laboratory equipment such as pH meters, spectrophotometers, and titration setups.
- Document all test results, equipment calibrations, and safety inspections in a centralized digital system.
- Collaborate with R&D and production teams to troubleshoot formulation issues and optimize process parameters.
- Ensure all safety data sheets (MSDS) are up‑to‑date, easily accessible, and communicated to relevant personnel.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting procedural changes that enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff on proper chemical handling and laboratory best practices.
- Adhere to the standard working schedule of Monday through Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00, and maintain punctual attendance.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in chemical manufacturing, preferably within foam, furniture, or spring‑bed production.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of chemical properties and their impact on manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in basic chemical analysis and operation of laboratory instruments.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Personal Attributes:
- Highly disciplined, detail‑oriented, and accountable for work quality.
