Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Fiber Optic Technician to join our dynamic team in Depok – Margonda. This role is crucial for delivering high‑quality FTTH (Fiber To The Home) and ISP services to our expanding customer base. As a key member of the network operations, you will be responsible for installing, activating, and maintaining fiber optic infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity for residential and business clients. Responsibilities
- Perform on‑site installation and activation of fiber optic services, including splicing, testing, and termination of fiber cables.
- Provide remote and on‑site technical support to customers, troubleshooting connectivity issues and resolving service disruptions promptly.
- Diagnose and repair network equipment such as OLTs, ONTs, routers, and switches to maintain optimal performance.
- Collaborate with the planning team to interpret network designs and ensure installations meet technical specifications and safety standards.
- Educate customers on proper usage of their fiber services, guiding them through basic troubleshooting steps and answering technical questions.
- Document all service activities, generate detailed reports, and update the ticketing system to reflect work completed and any follow‑up actions required.
- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, spare parts, and equipment, and request replenishments as needed.
- Adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and safety protocols while operating company vehicles and handling high‑voltage equipment.
- Participate in continuous training programs to stay current with emerging fiber technologies, industry standards, and best practices.
- Assist in field surveys and assist senior engineers in network expansion projects, providing valuable feedback on site conditions and potential challenges.
Requirements
- Male candidates, age maximum 35 years.
- Minimum education: SMK in Computer Network Engineering or related field; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering with at least a GPA of 3.00 (or SMK grade ≥85).
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in fiber optics, FTTH, or ISP environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of fiber optic principles, cable splicing, OTDR testing, and network troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in computer networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and QoS.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers, teammates, and management.
- Valid SIM A driver’s license and the ability to operate a company vehicle safely.
- Problem‑solving mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
