Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Internet and Wi‑Fi Service Technician to join our field team in the Merlung area. This role is essential to delivering reliable broadband, fiber‑to‑the‑home (FTTH), and Wi‑Fi solutions to residential and small‑business customers. The successful candidate will act as the technical face of the company, ensuring installations are completed on time, troubleshooting issues quickly, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Perform on‑site installation and activation of internet, fiber optic, and Wi‑Fi services for new and existing customers.
- Provide remote and on‑site technical support, diagnosing connectivity problems, and resolving issues within service level agreements.
- Configure and test network equipment such as routers, switches, optical network terminals (ONTs), and Wi‑Fi access points.
- Document all service calls, installation reports, and customer interactions in the company’s CRM system.
- Collaborate with the network operations center to escalate complex faults and follow up on ticket status.
- Educate customers on proper usage of equipment, safety guidelines, and basic troubleshooting steps.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables, requesting replenishment as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including proper handling of fiber optic cables and compliance with local regulations.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay current with emerging broadband technologies and industry best practices.
- Assist in field surveys to identify optimal placement of network infrastructure and recommend improvements.
Requirements
- Male candidates, maximum age of 35 years.
- Minimum education: SMK/Technical Computer Network or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.00 (or high school diploma with a minimum score of 85).
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in network installation, fiber optic or FTTH services, or an ISP environment.
- Valid Indonesian driving licence (SIM A) preferred.
- Solid understanding of fiber optic principles, FTTH architecture, and general telecommunications concepts.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills and ability to work with various networking hardware.
- Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia, with a customer‑focused attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours, Monday through Sunday, from 08:00 to 17:00, including occasional overtime or weekend assignments.
- Physical stamina to handle equipment lifting, climbing ladders, and working in diverse field conditions.
