This role is fully online, allowing you to connect with learners from across Indonesia and beyond via platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver customized Latin lesson plans that align with each student’s proficiency level and learning objectives.
- Conduct live, interactive tutoring sessions using Zoom, Google Meet, or other video‑conferencing tools.
- Assess student progress through quizzes, oral drills, and written translations, providing constructive feedback after each session.
- Prepare supplementary materials such as flashcards, practice worksheets, and reading excerpts from classical texts.
- Maintain clear communication with students and, when applicable, their parents or guardians regarding performance, attendance, and upcoming topics.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, ensuring inclusive and engaging instruction.
- Stay up‑to‑date with modern pedagogical approaches for language acquisition and integrate technology‑enhanced resources where appropriate.
- Manage your own teaching schedule, confirming session times and handling any rescheduling requests professionally.
Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Classics, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
- Strong command of Latin—both spoken and written—with the ability to explain complex grammatical concepts clearly.
- Prior teaching experience (formal or informal) is highly valued; fresh graduates with demonstrable tutoring experience are also welcome.
- Proficiency in online teaching platforms (Zoom, Google Meet) and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and a responsible attitude toward student development.
- Personal teaching equipment: a reliable computer, high‑speed internet connection, webcam, and headset.
- Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, between 08:00 and 17:00 Indonesia Western Time, with the possibility of adjusting hours to suit student availability.
