Introduction
We are seeking a highly motivated Supervisor Laboratorium (Laboratorium Batubara) to lead our coal laboratory operations across multiple project sites. This pivotal role ensures that all laboratory activities adhere to stringent quality standards and operational procedures, supporting the company’s commitment to delivering reliable coal quality data for exploration, production, and commercial planning. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily laboratory operations: Coordinate all laboratory functions, enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
- Oversee sample preparation: Manage the preparation of coal samples from exploration, PIT, ROM, stockpile, and barging activities, ensuring timely processing according to the established schedule.
- Monitor analyst performance: Evaluate the work of laboratory analysts and assistants, provide coaching, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs.
- Guarantee data accuracy: Validate testing methods, verify results, and implement corrective actions to maintain the reliability of coal quality analyses.
- Maintain laboratory equipment: Supervise equipment usage, schedule regular maintenance, perform calibrations, and manage spare‑parts inventory.
- Prepare and review documentation: Produce comprehensive laboratory reports, maintain accurate records, and ensure all documentation complies with regulatory and company standards.
- Support project site flexibility: Be willing to relocate or travel to any of the company’s mining or processing sites as project demands require.
- Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, implement best practices, and contribute to the laboratory’s strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience: At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in a coal or mineral laboratory, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or team‑lead capacity.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in coal quality testing methods (proximate analysis, ultimate analysis, calorific value, ash content, moisture, etc.) and familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Leadership Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to motivate a diverse team, and a track record of effective performance management.
- Problem‑solving: Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting analytical discrepancies and implementing corrective measures.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication in Bahasa Indonesia and English; capable of preparing clear technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Health & Safety: Commitment to maintaining a safe laboratory environment and compliance with occupational health regulations.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00‑17:00, and to be assigned to any company project site as needed.
