Introduction
We are a dedicated animal welfare shelter located in the heart of Indonesia, committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re‑homing stray and abandoned cats. To uphold this mission, we are looking for a passionate Spesialis Perawatan Kucing (Cat Care Specialist) who will work full‑time on‑site, living at the shelter and treating every cat as if it were their own.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily feeding schedules, ensuring each cat receives a balanced diet tailored to its age, health condition, and nutritional needs.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic environment by regularly cleaning cages, litter boxes, and common areas, and performing deep‑cleaning routines on a weekly basis.
- Monitor the health of all cats, noting changes in behavior, appetite, or physical condition, and promptly report any concerns to the veterinary team.
- Assist veterinarians during routine health checks, vaccinations, de‑worming, and minor medical procedures.
- Keep accurate records of each cat’s intake, medical history, and adoption status using the shelter’s management software.
- Socialize cats through gentle handling, play, and enrichment activities to improve their adoptability and overall wellbeing.
- Coordinate with the adoption team to introduce prospective adopters to cats, providing information about temperament and care requirements.
- Participate in community outreach programs, such as shelter tours and educational workshops, to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership.
- Ensure that all shelter protocols regarding biosecurity, animal welfare, and emergency procedures are strictly followed.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMP/MTS or equivalent.
- Age: 18 – 27 years (maximum 24 years preferred for the primary candidate).
- Gender: Open to all genders, with a preference for candidates who can commit to a single‑sex living arrangement as per shelter policy.
- Must be single/unmarried and willing to reside on‑site for the duration of employment.
- Strong passion for animal welfare; genuine love for cats is essential.
- Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic shelter environment and handle occasional high‑stress situations with calmness.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with volunteers, veterinary staff, and potential adopters.
- Physical stamina to perform lifting, cleaning, and prolonged periods of standing or kneeling.
- No prior professional experience required; however, any volunteer or informal experience with animal care is a plus.
