Introduction

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring that all food preparation processes run smoothly, from the moment ingredients arrive in the kitchen until the final plating of dishes. The successful candidate will work closely with chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen staff to maintain a high standard of food quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast‑paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs in preparing, measuring, and portioning ingredients for daily menus.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, and fryers safely and efficiently.
  • Perform basic cooking tasks including blanching, boiling, sautéing, and assembling dishes under supervision.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation of perishable items.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, performing regular sanitization of surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
  • Support inventory management by receiving deliveries, checking stock levels, and reporting shortages.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet service deadlines, especially during peak hours.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down the kitchen for special events, catering orders, or menu changes.
  • Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the kitchen supervisor.
  • Contribute ideas for improving workflow, reducing waste, and enhancing overall kitchen efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
