Introduction
The Hotel Surakarta is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Engineering professional to join our facilities team. This role is critical to maintaining the high‑quality guest experience that our historic property is known for. Based in Surakarta, the successful candidate will work closely with hotel management, housekeeping, and the front‑office to ensure that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems operate reliably and efficiently around the clock.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical failures in a timely manner, ensuring guest safety and comfort.
- Coordinate and supervise third‑party contractors for major repairs or system upgrades, verifying that work complies with hotel standards and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of service requests, work orders, and equipment performance using the hotel’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Implement energy‑saving initiatives, such as optimizing HVAC set points, calibrating sensors, and monitoring utility consumption.
- Support the integration and upkeep of smart‑building technologies, including building automation systems, IoT sensors, and remote monitoring tools.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
- Provide technical guidance and on‑the‑job training to junior technicians and maintenance staff.
- Participate in emergency response drills and be available for after‑hours calls when critical systems fail.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to manage spare‑parts inventory and recommend cost‑effective replacements.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC, electrical, or MEP is a strong advantage.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex mechanical and electrical systems.
- Solid understanding of HVAC operation, refrigeration cycles, fire‑suppression systems, and building electrical distribution.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and plumbing layouts.
- Experience with preventive‑maintenance programs and CMMS software.
- Strong analytical skills for fault diagnosis and the ability to propose practical, cost‑effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia; English proficiency is a plus.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and handle tools safely.

- Flexibility to work a rotating schedule: Monday through Sunday, 05:00 – 14:00, with occasional on‑call duties.
