Responsibilities
- Ingredient preparation: Wash, peel, slice, and portion vegetables, meats, and pantry items according to standardized recipes and food‑safety guidelines.
- Cooking and assembly: Execute cooking techniques—sauté, grill, boil, steam, and fry—under the direction of the chef, ensuring each plate meets taste, temperature, and visual standards.
- Station sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, regularly sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment to comply with health regulations.
- Inventory control: Rotate stock using FIFO (first‑in, first‑out) principles, monitor expiry dates, and report any discrepancies or shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
- Plating and presentation: Garnish dishes attractively, arrange accompaniments, and verify that every plate leaves the kitchen with a consistent, appealing look.
- Team collaboration: Communicate effectively with chefs, line cooks, and service staff to ensure smooth order flow and timely delivery during peak hours.
- Safety compliance: Follow all workplace safety protocols, including proper handling of hot equipment, knives, and chemicals, to prevent accidents.
- Continuous improvement: Participate in briefings, suggest workflow enhancements, and stay updated on emerging culinary trends and local taste preferences.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Age: No upper limit; candidates of any age are welcome.
- Gender: Open to all genders.
- Work experience: At least 1 year in a kitchen or food‑service environment.
- Core skills: Active communication, basic culinary techniques, and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Physical stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 20 kg, and work in a hot, fast‑moving environment.
- Reliability: Punctual attendance, willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Language: Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia; basic English is a plus for understanding standardized kitchen terminology.
