Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Ahli Teknik Elektromedik (Biomedical Engineering Technician) to join our dynamic clinical team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or professionals with a solid foundation in biomedical equipment maintenance, who are eager to contribute to patient care through reliable and safe operation of medical devices. The successful candidate will work closely with clinicians, engineers, and hospital staff to ensure that all electromedical equipment functions at peak performance, complying with regulatory standards and hospital protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, calibration, and safety checks on a wide range of electromedical equipment, including patient monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and imaging devices.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, documenting all service activities in the hospital’s asset management system.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to understand equipment usage patterns, providing on‑site technical support during procedures and emergencies.
- Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts, consumables, and tools, and coordinate with vendors for timely procurement.
- Ensure compliance with national health regulations and hospital accreditation standards by keeping the STR (Surat Tanda Registrasi) active and up‑to‑date.
- Participate in equipment validation and acceptance testing for newly acquired technology, preparing detailed reports for the engineering department.
- Deliver training sessions and user guides for nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals on proper equipment handling and safety practices.
- Assist in the development and continual improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to electromedical device management.
- Work flexible shift schedules, including evenings and weekends, to guarantee 24/7 equipment availability.
- Contribute to incident investigations and root‑cause analyses when equipment failures affect patient care, recommending corrective actions.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3 or D4 in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Fresh graduate or at least 0 years of relevant experience; internships or clinical exposure are a plus.
- Active STR (Surat Tanda Registrasi) as a certified electromedical technician.
- Strong ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional demeanor.
- High level of discipline, responsibility, and motivation to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts, including Saturdays, to support continuous patient care.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and basic computer applications.
