Introduction

We are a vibrant, community‑focused coffee house located in the cultural heart of Yogyakarta, seeking enthusiastic Baristas to join our front‑of‑house team. As a Barista at our Kedai Kopi, you will be the face of the brand, delivering high‑quality espresso‑based beverages, fostering genuine connections with customers, and upholding the standards of cleanliness and efficiency that define a modern specialty coffee outlet. Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment to consistently produce espresso, cappuccino, latte, pour‑over, and other specialty coffee drinks according to company recipes.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, as well as complementary food items, while ensuring presentation meets brand standards.
  • Provide excellent, friendly service by greeting each customer warmly, taking accurate orders, and answering questions about menu items and coffee origins.
  • Execute sales techniques such as up‑selling, cross‑selling, and suggestive selling to increase average ticket size and promote seasonal specialties.
  • Handle cash, card, and mobile payment transactions efficiently, maintain accurate cash drawer balances, and generate end‑of‑day sales reports.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular cleaning of equipment, counters, and dining space, and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in inventory checks, receive deliveries, and restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, and consumables to avoid stockouts during peak hours.
  • Participate in daily briefings and training sessions, sharing feedback and suggestions to continuously improve service quality.
  • Monitor equipment performance, report any malfunctions promptly, and assist in routine maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by supporting colleagues, covering shifts when needed, and demonstrating a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
  • Age: 28 years or younger; open to all genders.
  • At least one (1) year of proven experience working as a Barista or in a fast‑paced hospitality role.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate espresso machines, grinders, and related coffee equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong mental and physical health, able to stand for extended periods and handle the demands of busy service periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine service‑oriented attitude, optimism, and enthusiasm.
  • Not currently enrolled in a full‑time academic program; availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to be stationed at our Yogyakarta outlet and adapt to the local market’s cultural nuances.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and the ability to quickly learn point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and workplace cleanliness.
