Introduction
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Operator Gritter to join our road‑maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient distribution of grit material on highways and urban streets, ensuring optimal traction during adverse weather conditions. This role also includes basic cash‑handling duties for on‑site service stations, requiring familiarity with restaurant‑style point‑of‑sale (POS) applications. The position offers a stable Monday‑to‑Saturday schedule with competitive compensation and a supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the gritter machine, loading grit containers and monitoring dispensing rates.
- Travel to assigned road sections, following the daily work plan and adhering to traffic safety regulations.
- Inspect road conditions before, during, and after grit application, recording observations in daily logs.
- Coordinate with the traffic control team to place warning signs and cones, minimizing disruption to motorists.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on the gritter equipment, including cleaning, oil checks, and minor repairs.
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- Assist at the on‑site service kiosk by handling cash transactions, processing orders through the POS system, and delivering excellent customer service.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of grit, fuel, and consumables, notifying the procurement department when re‑stocking is required.
- Participate in regular safety briefings and emergency response drills to stay prepared for incidents such as vehicle accidents or severe weather events.
- Provide clear and courteous communication with drivers, pedestrians, and fellow crew members to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s degree (D4) in Mechanical Engineering, Transportation Management, or a related field.
- Age: 30 years old or younger.
- Gender: Female candidates are preferred, though the role is open to all qualified applicants.
- At least 1 year of proven experience operating heavy‑equipment or in a road‑maintenance environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use a restaurant‑style cash register or POS application with accuracy.
- Professional appearance and strong personal grooming standards.
- Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia, both spoken and written.
- Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Physical fitness to handle manual loading of grit bags and to sit for extended periods while operating machinery.
- Valid driver’s license (Class A) and clean driving record.
