Introduction
We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Sales Merchandiser to join our dynamic retail team in Samarinda. This role is pivotal in driving brand visibility, ensuring optimal product placement, and supporting the sales objectives of our designated GT (General Trade) and MT (Modern Trade) outlets. As a front‑line representative of the company, you will act as a liaison between the sales office and the store, delivering an exceptional shopping experience for customers while maximizing shelf performance.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of assigned GT and MT stores, building strong relationships with store managers and staff.
- Conduct scheduled store visits to monitor product placement, promotional displays, and compliance with brand standards.
- Execute merchandising activities including shelf replenishment, planogram adherence, and the creation of eye‑catching promotional setups.
- Drive in‑store promotions and point‑of‑sale activations to boost product trial and sales volume.
- Perform accurate stock checks, record inventory levels, and generate reliable order forecasts to prevent out‑of‑stock situations.
- Gather competitive intelligence on pricing, promotions, and new product launches to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide timely feedback and reports to the regional sales manager, highlighting challenges, successes, and opportunities for growth.
- Participate in training sessions and product knowledge workshops to stay current on brand messaging and market trends.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, ensuring all merchandising materials are stored safely and responsibly.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Merchandiser (MD) or Senior Merchandiser (SMD), preferably within FMCG or consumer goods.
- Strong understanding of retail merchandising principles, visual display techniques, and inventory management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence store staff and negotiate effectively.
- Self‑motivated with a high degree of autonomy, capable of managing a daily travel route across Binjai to Langkat.
- Proficiency in using mobile devices and basic office software for reporting and order entry.
- Flexibility to work standard hours (08:00‑17:00) and adapt to additional visits as required.
