Introduction
SPX Express is seeking a motivated and experienced Shift Lead for our Sortation Center (SOC) located in Kota Jambi, Jambi. As a critical member of our logistics network, you will oversee daily operations that ensure parcels are efficiently received, sorted, bagged, re‑processed when necessary, and dispatched to their final destinations. This role requires strong leadership, keen analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and productivity in a fast‑paced, shift‑based environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control the end‑to‑end workflow of the Sortation Center, including inbound receipt, sorting, bagging, re‑processing, and outbound dispatch.
- Ensure all processes adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and local safety regulations.
- Develop and adjust daily manpower plans to match fluctuating volume trends, optimizing labor utilization while minimizing overtime.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, order accuracy, equipment uptime, and labor productivity; implement corrective actions when targets are not met.
- Conduct regular shift briefings to communicate performance results, safety updates, and 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) initiatives.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance and quickly resolve equipment breakdowns.
- Collaborate with inbound and outbound planning teams to align sorting capacity with carrier schedules and peak demand periods.
- Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
- Prepare daily and weekly operational reports for senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and proposed improvements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work environment in line with company safety policies.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in any field is preferred.
- 2–3 years of logistics experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or warehouse‑lead role.
- Proven ability to manage a team of 20‑40 associates in a high‑volume sorting environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to convey expectations clearly and motivate staff.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and data analysis.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends, and to be stationed permanently in Kota Jambi.
