Introduction

Grand Toserba, a leading retail chain in Balikpapan, is seeking energetic and results‑driven individuals to join our sales force as Promotor Penjualan (Mitra). This position is based in our flagship Grand Toserba store and offers a dynamic environment where you will interact directly with customers, promote a wide range of products, and contribute to the store’s overall revenue growth. The role is ideal for candidates who thrive on meeting targets, enjoy face‑to‑face selling, and possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute direct sales activities by approaching shoppers, presenting product benefits, and closing sales transactions.
  • Maintain and nurture long‑term relationships with existing customers to encourage repeat purchases and brand loyalty.
  • Submit daily sales reports via the dedicated WhatsApp group, ensuring accurate tracking of performance metrics.
  • Conduct in‑store product promotions, product demonstrations, and special event activations to boost visibility.
  • Collect and relay customer feedback, complaints, and suggestions to the internal sales and product development teams.
  • Recommend appropriate products based on customer needs, purchasing power, and inventory availability.
  • Perform daily stock checks, report damaged or expired items, and assist with regular stock‑taking (stock opname) procedures.
  • Identify recurring product issues, document them, and work with the supply chain to resolve root causes.
  • Align personal sales activities with the store’s broader sales strategy and promotional calendar.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, share best practices, and contribute ideas for improving the shopping experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in a sales or promotional role, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Strong integrity, honesty, and a high level of personal responsibility.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Familiarity with daily stock management and inventory control processes.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and mobile communication tools (WhatsApp, Excel).
  • Flexibility to work a schedule of Tuesday to Sunday, 08:00 – 17:00.
