Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Cook Assistant – Kitchen Operations Support to join our fast‑paced culinary team. This position is ideal for individuals who have completed at least a high school or vocational education (SMA/SMK) and possess a solid foundation in basic cooking techniques. The successful candidate will work Monday through Saturday, from 08:00 to 17:00, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in delivering high‑quality dishes, particularly in Western cuisine. Responsibilities
- Assist senior cooks in preparing ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and portioning, to ensure a smooth workflow during service hours.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, cooking equipment, and storage areas in accordance with food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, report low stock, and help with the receiving and proper rotation of fresh produce, meats, and pantry items.
- Execute basic cooking tasks such as sautéing, grilling, and assembling plated dishes under the guidance of the head chef.
- Support the kitchen team during peak periods by replenishing stations, refilling sauces, and ensuring timely delivery of orders to the front of house.
- Adhere to health and hygiene regulations, including proper hand‑washing, sanitation of utensils, and waste management.
- Participate in daily briefings, providing feedback on workflow improvements and suggesting ideas for menu enhancements.
- Assist in the preparation of Western‑style meals, demonstrating an understanding of classic techniques and flavor profiles.
- Help train new kitchen assistants on standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and kitchen etiquette.
- Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by communicating effectively, showing respect for colleagues, and being flexible with shift adjustments.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Age: 25 years or older.
- Gender: Female (as specified by the hiring policy).
- At least one year of hands‑on experience in a kitchen or cook‑assistant role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic cooking techniques; experience with Western cuisine is highly preferred.
- Professional appearance and a presentable demeanor.
- Strong personal traits: honesty, discipline, reliability, and a hardworking attitude.
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to follow instructions while also taking initiative.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia; basic English is a plus for understanding international menu items.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights typical in a kitchen environment.
