Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and line cooks with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring ingredients.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including slicers, mixers, ovens, and grills, following standard operating procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, ensuring compliance with local health and safety regulations.
- Receive and store deliveries, checking for quality and proper temperature, then organizing inventory for easy access.
- Support the plating process by arranging garnish, sauces, and side dishes according to recipe specifications.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures, alerting senior kitchen staff of any deviations or potential issues.
- Participate in regular kitchen briefings, sharing observations that could improve workflow or reduce waste.
- Adhere to shift schedules, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, while maintaining a professional attitude.
- Assist in waste management by sorting recyclables, compost, and landfill items, contributing to the restaurant’s sustainability goals.
- Step in to fill temporary gaps in the line during high‑volume periods, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2–3 years of hands‑on kitchen experience in a commercial food service setting.
- Completed high school education (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
