Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Apoteker Penanggung Jawab Apotek Utama to lead the pharmaceutical operations of our flagship pharmacy. This full‑time role is based in a busy urban setting with a high volume of customers seeking both prescription and over‑the‑counter products. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail‑oriented professional who can ensure regulatory compliance, maintain the highest standards of patient safety, and foster a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing, inventory control, and medication safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all national pharmacy regulations, including maintaining a valid and active STRA (Surat Tanda Registrasi Apoteker).
- Manage and mentor a team of pharmacy technicians and junior pharmacists, promoting continuous learning and professional development.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to verify prescriptions, resolve drug‑interaction issues, and provide medication counseling.
- Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for drug storage, handling, and disposal in line with Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits of stock levels, expiry dates, and controlled substances to minimize waste and ensure availability of essential medicines.
- Handle patient inquiries, provide clear medication instructions, and educate customers on proper drug use and potential side effects.
- Participate in on‑call standby rotations to address urgent medication needs outside regular business hours.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports to senior management, detailing key performance indicators such as prescription volume, customer satisfaction, and financial metrics.
- Assist in the development of promotional health campaigns, vaccination drives, and community outreach programs.
Requirements
- Female candidates only; gender requirement reflects internal staffing policies.
- Maximum age of 30 years.
- Minimum education: High School (SMA) / Vocational (SMK) or equivalent; a pharmacy-related degree is preferred but not mandatory for fresh graduates.
- Active STRA registration.
- Willingness to work on a standby schedule, including weekends and occasional nights.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; no prior experience as an APJ (Apoteker Penanggung Jawab) is required.
- Must not hold an APJ position at another pharmacy simultaneously.
- Strong teamwork orientation and excellent communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of hospital pharmacy practices and the ability to adapt to a fast‑paced retail environment.
