Introduction

The Assistant to the Chief Accountant (Asst. CA) plays a pivotal support role within our finance department, ensuring the smooth operation of accounting activities for a dynamic hospitality organization located in Anyer, Serang. This full‑time position follows a Monday‑to‑Saturday schedule, with working hours from 08:00 to 17:00. The successful candidate will act as a trusted liaison between the Chief Accountant and various internal teams, contributing to accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision‑making.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Accountant in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Indonesian GAAP and international standards.
  • Perform day‑to‑day bookkeeping tasks, including journal entry preparation, ledger maintenance, and reconciliation of bank statements.
  • Support the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with corporate, VAT, and payroll taxation regulations.
  • Coordinate with the hotel operations team to gather cost data, verify expense allocations, and monitor budget variances.
  • Maintain the VHP System (our proprietary hotel property management and accounting platform), updating guest folios, revenue postings, and expense codes.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective actions to improve financial controls.
  • Prepare analytical reports on key performance indicators such as RevPAR, average daily rate, and operating profit margins.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and knowledge‑sharing environment.
  • Serve as a point of contact for external auditors, banks, and tax authorities, supplying required documentation promptly.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings, offering financial insights that support marketing, sales, and human resources initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Accounting, Finance, Hotel Management, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar accounting or finance role, preferably within the hospitality sector.
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations applicable in Indonesia.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and hands‑on experience with the VHP System or comparable hotel accounting software.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset combined with a positive attitude, outgoing personality, and a high level of motivation.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Organizational and leadership capabilities, demonstrated by managing multiple tasks and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Willingness to be based in Anyer, Serang, with occasional travel to satellite properties as needed.
