To sustain our high‑energy environment, we are seeking a passionate Barista Professional who thrives in fast‑paced F&B settings and is eager to grow their craft.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve specialty coffee drinks, demonstrating a solid understanding of coffee extraction fundamentals (beginner level) and latte art techniques.
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other brewing equipment while maintaining consistent quality and taste standards.
- Craft and present additional beverage offerings such as shakes, mocktails, and seasonal specials.
- Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items.
- Maintain a clean, organized production area, including regular equipment cleaning, countertop sanitation, and waste disposal.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and café systems to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff and fellow baristas to manage high‑volume periods, especially during peak shift hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other consumables, reporting shortages to management promptly.
- Assist in training new team members on coffee preparation, customer service etiquette, and health‑safety protocols.
- Adapt to a three‑shift schedule (morning, afternoon, night) and work a full 8‑hour shift, with one day off per week.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Age between 18‑25 years; both male and female candidates are welcome.
- At least 2 years of experience in a café or restaurant environment, preferably with a focus on specialty coffee.
- Proficient in coffee brewing methods, latte art, and basic espresso machine operation.
- Strong communication skills, courteous demeanor, and a professional appearance.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, handle pressure, and maintain discipline.
- Passion for the food‑and‑beverage industry and a genuine interest in coffee culture.
- Residency in Medan and possession of personal transportation for commuting.
- Availability for a 7‑month contract; must not be currently enrolled in university or employed elsewhere.
- Willingness to adhere to shift rotations and the café’s SOPs.
