Introduction
We are seeking a highly skilled Chef with extensive culinary expertise to join our dynamic kitchen team. This role is ideal for a passionate culinary professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys creating authentic Indonesian dishes, and is ready to take on both daily operations and special event catering, particularly for the upcoming Lebaran season. The successful candidate will work on a full‑time basis, Monday through Saturday, from 08:00 to 17:00, with the flexibility to cover shift work as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute daily menus that reflect traditional Indonesian flavors while incorporating modern plating techniques.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency, taste, and visual appeal.
- Manage inventory, conduct regular stock checks, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal levels of fresh ingredients.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in accordance with local regulations.
- Lead and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing training on knife skills, cooking methods, and proper kitchen workflow.
- Collaborate with the catering team to plan, prepare, and execute large‑scale events, with a particular focus on Lebaran festivities.
- Monitor kitchen equipment, schedule routine maintenance, and report any malfunction promptly.
- Maintain accurate production records, cost controls, and waste‑reduction initiatives.
- Participate in menu tastings, gather feedback, and continuously refine recipes to meet guest expectations.
- Work collaboratively with management to develop promotional specials and seasonal offerings that drive revenue.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4 in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field; SMK or equivalent is acceptable.
- Age: 25 years or older.
- At least 2 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or high‑volume restaurant setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Indonesian cuisine, with additional experience in international dishes considered a plus.
- Ability to work flexible shift schedules, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong personal attributes: honesty, attention to detail, speed, high energy, and excellent teamwork orientation.
- Willingness to assist with pre‑event preparation and large‑scale catering, especially during the Lebaran period.
- Graduates of formal culinary programs (e.g., Tataboga) receive added preference.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
- Legal eligibility to work in Indonesia and a valid work permit if applicable.
