Introduction
Sophos School Indonesia, located in the vibrant BSD City campus of Tangerang Selatan, is urgently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Guru Geografi Sekolah Menengah to join our secondary education team. This full‑time position runs from Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:00, and offers the chance to shape the geographic knowledge and critical thinking skills of Indonesian adolescents. Fresh graduates with a passion for teaching are welcomed, provided they meet the minimum academic and skill criteria outlined below. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging geography lessons aligned with Cambridge International and OxfordAQA standards for grades 10‑12.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment tools that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Utilize Google Workspace for Education to create digital resources, manage classroom communication, and track student progress.
- Assess student performance through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback and individualized support.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, department heads, and curriculum coordinators to integrate interdisciplinary projects, especially those linking geography with history, economics, and environmental science.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and parent‑teacher conferences to continuously improve instructional quality.
- Maintain an orderly and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, respect for cultural diversity, and active participation.
- Stay current with global geographic trends, technological tools, and pedagogical research to enrich classroom experiences.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities such as geography clubs, field trips, and school-wide environmental initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Geography, Education, or a related field; fresh graduates are eligible.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience at the secondary level, preferably within an international or bilingual curriculum.
- Familiarity with Cambridge International and/or OxfordAQA curricula is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace for Education (Docs, Slides, Classroom, Forms, etc.).
- Excellent spoken and written English; ability to communicate concepts clearly in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Demonstrated passion for teaching, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to student success.
- Creative, motivated, and quick to learn new technologies or teaching methodologies.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments and contribute to school initiatives.
- Professional, mature personality with strong communication skills and adaptability to new challenges.
- Indonesian citizenship (no expatriates).
