Introduction
SPX Express is seeking a dynamic and results‑driven Shift Lead to join our logistics team at the Huta Bayu Raja facility in Kab. Simalungun, Sumatera Utara. This pivotal role ensures that daily inbound and outbound operations run smoothly, that courier and driver teams are effectively coordinated, and that service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met. The successful candidate will be a proactive leader with a solid grounding in logistics, supply chain processes, and team management.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the end‑to‑end process of shipments, including the pickup, transit, and delivery of goods.
- Oversee inbound and outbound activities, ensuring seamless hand‑off to third‑party logistics (3PL) partners.
- Track sorting operations and verify that couriers distribute packages according to planned routes.
- Lead a team of couriers and drivers, providing clear instructions, performance feedback, and on‑the‑job coaching.
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly delivery schedules that align with customer expectations and SLA commitments.
- Analyze delivery zones, optimize routing, and manage operational cost factors such as fuel consumption.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to synchronize picking, packing, and loading activities.
- Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, order accuracy, and vehicle utilization.
- Identify process bottlenecks, propose corrective actions, and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and local transportation laws.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in any field is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related environment, with proven leadership exposure.
- Strong understanding of planning, shipping, and warehousing workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to manage shift‑based operations and adapt to changing workload demands.
- Excellent coordination and strategic leadership skills, with a focus on team motivation and results.
- Proficiency in basic operational calculations, including fuel budgeting and route cost analysis.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including early mornings or evenings as required.
- Residency in or willingness to relocate to Huta Bayu Raja, Kab. Simalungun, Sumatera Utara.
