Introduction
We are seeking a motivated and customer‑focused Retail Sales Cashier to join our bustling storefront team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast‑paced environment, possess strong communication skills, and have at least one year of hands‑on experience operating a computerized point‑of‑sale (POS) system. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a seamless checkout experience while upholding the highest standards of accuracy, honesty, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Process all customer transactions efficiently using the store’s computerised cashier system, ensuring accurate cash handling and proper documentation.
- Provide friendly, courteous, and prompt service to every shopper, answering product questions and guiding them through promotions.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including regular stocking of bags, receipt paper, and other essential supplies.
- Perform end‑of‑day cash reconciliation, prepare cash‑up reports, and promptly report any discrepancies to the store manager.
- Assist with inventory control by scanning returned items, updating stock levels, and flagging any damaged merchandise.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure smooth shift transitions, share important updates, and support peak‑hour traffic.
- Adhere to company policies on loss prevention, fraud detection, and data privacy while handling sensitive customer information.
- Participate in periodic training sessions to stay current with new POS features, product knowledge, and customer‑service best practices.
- Contribute ideas for improving checkout efficiency, reducing wait times, and enhancing overall shopper satisfaction.
Requirements
- Maximum age of 28 years.
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of proven experience as a cashier using a computer‑based POS system.
- Excellent verbal communication and positive body language; ability to engage customers warmly.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends (Monday‑Saturday schedule, 08:00‑17:00).
- Strong attention to detail, honesty, and disciplined work habits.
- Demonstrated loyalty and a proactive attitude toward team and company goals.
- Basic math proficiency and the ability to handle cash, credit, and electronic payments accurately.
